In our Ephesians Sunday School class we've been working through the section of Paul's application of the Gospel to the Roman household. This week we wrap up that section by hearing what he says to slaves and masters. This is very provocative stuff. Paul outlines a salvation narrative quite alien to most of our assumption as to how freedom is found in the midst of circumstances beyond our control. Click here for the mp3.
At the 11:00 Worship Service we begin three weeks treating Jesus' Parable of the Sower or Parable of the Soils. It is a famous parable but people's interpretations of it vary widely. Click here for the mp3.

Adult Sunday School resumed with the discussion of Paul's words in Ephesians to the family in the Roman Empire. This week we looked at what he said to "children". What we discovered may surprise you. Click here to download an mp3.
At the 11:00 worship service we looked at a small commonly overlooked text beginning Luke chapter 8 and tried to figure out what could account for this group of misfit women that were following Jesus around and serving him with their resources. Click here for an mp3.

Earl Marlink, a retired pastor who was pastor here for a number of years gave a Father's Day message. Click here for an mp3 of the message.
There was no Adult Sunday School because Paul was serving at Synod in Grand Rapids.

At our 9:30 Adult Sunday School class we spent our third week on Ephesians 5:21-39. This will be the last week on that text. We won't have class next week because Paul will be at Synod. We'll take up children and slaves when I return. Audio from June 8.
At 11:00 we looked for a second week on the story of the woman washing Jesus' feet with her tears in the home of Simon the Pharisee. This week we focused on the woman and asked the question: "What does a saved woman look like?" Audio from the sermon. Powerpoint in PDF of the sermon.
Earl Marlink will be preaching for Paul on June 15.

In our adult Sunday School class we had our second week wrestling with Paul's words for the Roman household. Session 1 was three weeks ago. Session two was June 1. I'll link both because a number of you missed week one.
At 11:00 we started two sermons on one text: Jesus dining in the house of Simon the Pharisee where "the sinful woman of the city" washed Jesus feet. In this first week we looked at Simon. Next week we focus on her. Video. MP3 audio.
